1- KNITTING for beginners.
Learn how (2 hrs):
Knit and purl. You will be able to knit « socks for beginner » after this class.
Tuesday, November 15, 7-9 pm.
Cost: 30$ (material included).

2: SOCKS for beginner.
Learn how (3 x 2 hrs):
You know how to knit and purl, you can make a pair of socks or even Christmas stocking with this very easy technique.
Thursday, November 17, 24, and December 1, 7- 9 pm.
Cost: 60$.
3: FINITION, the most important part of knitting.
Learn how (2 hrs) :
to neatly cast off, to sew, to pickup dropped stitches, to decorate a finished garnment, to correct a mistake you noticed after you have completed you project and more…
Saturday, November 19, 10 am to 12 am.
Cost: 20$.
4- MAGIC LOOP, the knit everything with one needle technique.
Learn how (1 hr):
Knit back and forth, knit in the round, knit socks and mitts and more all this sparing your back, neck, elbows and wrists.
Saturday, November 26, 10 am to 11 am.

Cost: 10$
5- THRUMMING, just like the mittens from Newfoundland!

Learn how (1hr) :
To thrumm mitts, socks, anything goes!
Saturday, November 26, 11 am to 12 am.

Cost: 15$ (yarn included)

1- Tricot pour DÉBUTANTS

Apprenez comment (2 hrs):

Tricoter à l’endroit et à l’envers. Vous serez capable de prendre le cours de bas pour débutant par la suite.
Mardi le 15 novembre de 7 à 9 pm.

Coût : 30$ (materiel inclus).
2:  BAS pour débutants.

Apprenez comment (3 x 2 hres):

Vous savez déjà tricoter à l’endroit et à l’envers, vous serez capable de tricoter une paire de bas ou un bas de Noël avec cette technique facile.

Jeudi les 17, 24 novembre et le 1 er décembre de 7 à 9 pm
Coût: 60$.

3: FINITION, la partie la plus importante du tricot.

Apprenez comment (2 hres) :

Fermer des mailles, comment ramasser des mailles échappées, décorer un vêtement, corriger une erreur une fois que vous avez terminé votre projet et plus.
Samedi le 19 novembre de  10 am à  12 am

Coût: 20$.

4- MAGIC LOOP, tout tricoter avec une seule aiguille.

Apprenez comment (1 hre):

Tricoter aller retour, en rond, des bas et des mitaines et plus, tout en ménageant votre dos, votre cou, vos épaules, vos coudes et poignets.
Samedi le 26 novembre de 10 am à 11 am

Coût: 10$

5- LARDER, comme les mitaines de Terre-Neuve (voir la photo sur le site du blog sous catégories).

Apprenez comment (1hre)
Larder des mitaines, des bas enfin tout est possible.
Samedi le 26 novembre de 11 am à  12 am

Coût: 15$ (laine incluse)

 Voici  La Tricotée en photo!   

Voici quelques photos d’Éloïse dans son amarutik (porte-bébé) adoré!

 Ce porte-bébé Inuit est très populaire chez la population Inuit du Grand Nord Québécois. Le modèle présenté ici est celui porté durant les mois d’été, de printemps et d’automne par les femmes Inuit.

 Les bébé y sont transportés de la naissance jusqu’à environ l’âge de 2 ans.

 Ils sont construits solidement avec du tissu léger et confortable, facile d’entretien (lavable et séchable à la machine). L’Amarutik se porte sur le devant comme au dos, un peu comme un sac à dos. Il est très facile à enfiler par une personne seule, sans aide. Il suffit de le ranger dans votre poche entre les utilisations et le tour est joué.

Faits à la main, ils sont très pratiques, uniques au monde et bien de chez Nous.

 Lors de ses séjours dans l’Arctique, Michèle a côtoyé les femmes Inuit et a appris leur art.

Éloïse, la petite fille de Michèle, est toujours très excitée lorsqu’elle a la chance de se faire promener dans son Amarutik.

 Il est reconnu par tous que les porte-bébé sont bénéfiques pour le développement de l’enfant et ce, à plusieurs points de vue,  en plus de permettre à maman ou papa d’avoir les bras libres (Blois, M. Babywearing , Pharmasoft Publishing, 2005).

 Essayez-le, vous verrez!

At Last!

Here are some pictures of the famous Inuit baby carrier, the Amarutik.

The Amarutik is very popular among the Inuit. Mothers use them during summer, fall and spring seasons to carry their baby, from newborn up to about 2 years of age.

 We can wear the Amarutik on the front or the back as a backpack. It is very easy to put the child in it without help.

Éloïse, Michèle’s grandaughter, always get very excited whenever she sees it. She loves having a ride in her Amarutik.

It is hand made by Michèle, strong, with light and easy-to-care for fabric (machine wash and dry). The Amarutik is unique in the world and is made in Québec.

 Michèle learned Inuit art when she lived in Nunavik, northern Quebec.

It is now well known that babywearing is benefical for child development, and it allows Mom or Dad to be hands-free (Blois, M., 2005. Babywearing, Pharmasoft Publishing, TX).

 Try it, you will see!
